Salisbury Beach — John F. Cronin Jr., 72, of Salisbury Beach, died suddenly on August 31, 2013, in Newbury, Vt. John was born in Lawrence, and was the son of the late John and Mary ‘Molly’ (Williams) Cronin. John was raised and educated in Lawrence and was a 1957 graduate of Lawrence High School. He worked at Raytheon for over 40 years before his retirement.
He enjoyed his retirement at the beach, playing golf, watching sports, and spending time with his grandchildren. He was a kind and gentle man, who was very devoted to his family.
John will be remembered as a devoted, loyal and loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, and friend, who touched many lives and will be greatly missed by all.
John is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Joanne (Ginchereau) Cronin of Salisbury Beach; his two loving daughters, Eileen and her husband, David McKnelly of Newbury, Vt., and Cheryl and her husband, Brian McAnally of North Andover. John was blessed with six grandchildren, whom he loved very much, Zachary, Sean, Tommy, Ian, Tegegn, and Jessie, as well as many nieces and nephews. John was predeceased by his brother, Joe, and sister, Eileen.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends will be received at visiting hours on Thursday September 5, from 4 to 8 p.m., at Cataudella Funeral Home, 126 Pleasant Valley St., Methuen. His Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, September 6, at 10 a.m., in St. Michael’s Church, 196 Main St., North Andover. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery, Lawrence.
