Seabrook, NH — Richard "Rick" Hirbour, 64, passed away peacefully on Friday, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, with his family at his side. He was the husband of Linda J. (Drouin) Hirbour. Born in Lowell, Mass., he was the son of the late Paul and Thelma (Showalter) Hirbour, and the foster son of the late Charles and Katherine Hulbert.
He was a graduate of Amesbury High School, Class of 1967. He later became proprietor of Pine Street Auto Body, which he ran for 30 years. He loved riding motorcycles and had a horseshoes club behind his home, called the Tri-town Horseshoe Club. He was a member of the St. Jean's Club and the Polish Club, both of Amesbury and the Moose Club of Merrimac, Mass.
Besides his wife, Linda, he is survived by one daughter, Crystal Hoesli and her husband, John, of Missouri; his grandchildren, John and Jessica Hoesli; one sister, Jeanne Hamel-Hirbour and her husband, Roland, of Salisbury, Mass.; his special brother, David Palavanchuk of Seabrook; his mother-in-law, Jeanne Donovan and husband, Tom; his extended family, Kristin Stromert and William Mahoney; his nieces and nephews, Anthony, Andrea, Stacey, Jody, David, Alexandra, Tommy, Zachery, Josephine, Georgia, David, Wendy, and Avery; his loving and loyal dogs, Sally, Rocky and Logan; and many close friends. He was the brother of the late Paul H. Hirbour Jr. From wife Linda, "He is now and will always be my soul mate, he is the air beneath my wings, and he is waiting for me and we will be together again one day."
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services will take place on Wednesday, November 27, at 11 a.m., at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend Street, Amesbury, Mass., followed by burial in Hillside Cemetery, Seabrook. Calling hours will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, November 26, from 5 to 8 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the Merrimack River Feline Rescue, 63 Elm St., Salisbury, MA 01952.
