SEABROOK, N.H. — Patrick J. "Jack" O'Neill, 75, of Seabrook, died Sunday, January 22, 2012 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport, MA after a brief illness.
He was born February 17, 1936 in Providence, RI, the son of the late Patrick A. and Ruth (Maguire) O'Neill. Jack was raised in Providence and attended schools there before enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He served as a submarine tender in Groton, CT and later served in the U.S. Naval Reserves for a number of years.
He was employed as a chemical engineer working for the former EPI Ceramics and was also self employed in the chemical field before his retirement. More recently he was employed in security at the Seabrook Greyhound Park. A devoted husband, father and grandfather, he was a communicant of Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church in Hampton. He had made his home in Seabrook since 1970.
He shared 49 years of marriage with his wife, Barbara S. (Calise) O'Neill. In addition to his wife, family members include three daughters, Barbara J. Emerson and husband Harold, Lisa M. Chase and husband Don, Ann M. Hughes and husband Donald, all of Seabrook, four grandchildren, Jeffrey, Michael and Alyssa Emerson and Kayla O'Neill. He was predeceased by his son, Patrick John O'Neill, Jr. in 1992.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be from 5-8 P.M. Thursday, January 26, 2012 at the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 A.M. Friday, January 27, 2012 in Our Lady of the Miraculous Medal Church, 289 Lafayette Road, Hampton.
