Amesbury — Gladys E. Waterman, of Amesbury, died at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill. She was born in Swanville, Maine, daughter of the late Charles and Lena (Lenfest) Small.
Gladys was a farmer, as well as a homemaker and mother. She also enjoyed babysitting her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She was predeceased by her husbands, Charles H. Waterman and Robert W. Waterman; brother, Herbert; sisters, Mae and Carrie and two infant brothers.
Surviving Gladys are three sons, John R. Waterman and companion, Mary Sousa, Robert W. Waterman, Jr., and Ralph H. Waterman, two daughters, Betty Standing and fiance, Richard Stevens and Lena Standing and husband, Gary; three grandchildren, Bill Standing and wife, Laura, Jennifer Waterman-Cole and husband Dan, and Robert F. Waterman; four great-grandchildren, Jessica and Tiffany Standing, and Derek and Sydney Cole; and five great-great-grandchildren, Jayda and DeAndre Jerez, Kayla and Kenneth Kewish and Joshua Hathaway. She is also survived by a foster child, Santana “Shawn” Carusco, along with several generations of nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services and interment will be private. The family kindly requests that flowers be omitted. Arrangements are by Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury.
