Amesbury — Richard R. Morse, 80, longtime Amesbury resident, beloved husband of 59 years to Frances (Bowser) Morse, passed away peacefully at Anna Jaques Hospital surrounded by his loving family on Thursday November 22, 2012 due to complications of surgery.
He was born April 6, 1932 in Amesbury, Massachusetts, son of the late Leslie and Elizabeth Morse.
A veteran of the Korean War, he served with the US Navy aboard the USS Orion from January 11, 1951 until his honorable discharge on Novvember 3, 1954.
He was a Facilities Manager at Munters Corp in Amesbury, retiring in 1999.
Dick and his wife Fran were avid walkers and also loved mountain climbing. They also enjoyed hiking the many trails in the local area.
Besides his wife of 59 years, he leaves behind daughters, Susan Paszkowski and her husband Tony of Riverview, FL; Caren and her husband Greg Gosselin of Kingston, NH; and son Keith Morse and fiance Maryanne Balogna of Haverhill, MA. He also leaves four grandchildren, Kerri Van Buskirk and husband Deric of Kissimmee, FL; Caity Gosselin of Kingston, NH and Christopher and Tyler Morse of Plaistow, NH, as well as three great grandchildren, Julia, Jordan and Jenna Van Buskirk of Kissimmee, FL.
ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, will be Monday, November 26, 2012 from 5 to 8 P.M. Funeral services and interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amesbury will be private for the family.
