Stanley P. Kardek, 83


Amesbury, MA — Stanley P. Kardek, 83, passed away on Friday morning at Amesbury Village. He was the husband of Ann (Ouellette) Kardek. Born in Amesbury, he was the son of the late Peter and Nellie (Dziucz) Kardek.

He grew up and attended schools in Amesbury and was a member of the famed "49ers" of the AHS Class of 1949. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict, and served many years in the Army Reserves. He went on to work as a turbine machinist with General Electric for many years until his retirement. He was a member and trustee of the Richard F. O'Brien post 2016 VFW, a member of the Elks of Newburyport, the Polish Club of Amesbury, and NARFE. He loved the outdoors and was an avid hunter, fisherman, making fly fishing flies, and was a member of the Katadhin Club of Amesbury, and State Line Field & Stream Club of Soutgh Hampton, N.H.

Besides his wife, Ann, he is survived by one son, Frederick Kardek of Kensington, N.H.; two sisters, Jean Paulauskas of Amesbury, and Josephine Gaucher of Barrington, N.H.; two sister-in-laws, Jean Radford of Lynchburg, Va., and Maryanne Kardek of Amesbury; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his siblings, Walter, Sophia, Edward, and Joseph Kardek.

ARRANGEMENTS: His funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, September 28, at 10:30 a.m., in the Holy Family Parish Church, 2 School Street, Amesbury, followed by burial with military honors in the St. Joseph's Cemetery, Amesbury. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in his name to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, 9 Sparhawk St., Amesbury, MA 01913. Arrangements are by the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home in Amesbury.
