Amanda Louise Doucette

Amesbury, MA — Amanda Louise Doucette, age 26, of Amesbury, died unexpectedly Monday morning, September 23, 2013.

Born in Lawrence, April 21, 1987, she was the daughter of the late Harold Doucette and Oveline M. Morrill. Amanda graduated from the Amesbury Academy of Strategic Learning. She was honored by the Amesbury High School Alumni in 2004 with the “Unsung Student Award” for her role as mentor to fellow students. She went on to receive a degree in Childhood Education from Northern Essex Community College in Haverhill, where she was the recipient of the “Academic Award for High Honors.”

She had worked at the YWCA Child Care Program for the past several years, bringing much joy to her young charges through the various activities provided, from reading to arts and crafts.

Having lost her mother at an early age, it was her grandparents, Oveline and Robert Morrill of Amesbury, who lovingly raised her. In addition to her grandparents, she is survived by her brothers, Anthony Lebrasseur, Jr. and his significant other, Regina Servius, of Groveland and Thomas Doucette of Manchester, N.H.; her sisters, Fallon Doucette of Manchester, N.H., Desiree Morrill of Amesbury and Laci Doucette of Manchester, N.H.; along with several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and many dear friends. Their hearts are broken and their sorrow overwhelming, yet their love for her will forever keep her kindness, sincerity and generosity of spirit alive in their hearts.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Highland Street Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, will be Sunday, September 29, 2013, from 4 to 7 p.m. A funeral Mass will be held Monday morning at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church of the Holy Family Parish, 2 School Street, Amesbury followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amesbury. Donations in her memory may be made to the Pettengill House, Inc., P.O. Box 5551, Salisbury, MA 01952.
