Gloria Suzanne (Ferrera) Lasnier

Amesbury, MA — Gloria Suzanne (Ferrera) Lasnier, 80, resident of Amesbury for many years, died unexpectedly at the Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. She was the beloved wife of the late Victor Scott Lasnier, who died in 1993.

Daughter of the late August C. and Mildred (Claud-Mantle) Ferrera, Gloria was born on February 3, 1933, in Englewood, N.J., and received her bachelor's degree in education from the University of Bridgeport in Bridgeport, Conn.

She was a devoted wife and mother, and with her husband, settled in Connecticut and raised four children over a span of 40 years. Her family was of great importance to her. She dedicated herself to raising her children, fulfilling their needs, and creating a home life filled with understanding, encouragement, and above all else, unconditional love. She instilled in them the importance of kindness, generosity, respect for self, and for others, and devotion to family. She shared with them her strong faith and commitment to the Lord.

In addition to her fulfilling home and spiritual life, she partnered alongside her husband in several of the family manufacturing enterprises. These included West-Con Manufacturing, Dante Electric and Southport Industries. In her later years, she relocated to Amesbury, Mass., and became a devoted parishioner of St. Joseph Church of the Holy Family Parish of Amesbury.

She also enjoyed traveling throughout the world with family and friends, and all the new experiences and memories her journeys elicited. Current events and politics were also a great interest, and she continued to participate in many courses and groups at the local community college in Haverhill. Throughout her entire life, she cherished her many friends, both old and new.

Predeceased by her husband, her parents, her sister, Frances Martini and her grandson, Victor Larsen, she leaves behind four loving daughters, Deborah Lasnier of Collinsville, Conn., Nancy Larsen and husband, Wayne, of Winsted, Conn.; Victoria Clarke and husband, Michael, of Barkhamsted, Conn., and Vivian Lasnier of Amesbury; her six precious grandchildren, Deidre, Erika, Danielle, Katherine, Andrew, and Jennifer; her two great-grandchildren, Stephen and Lillian; her brother, George Ferrera and wife Janet of Trumbull, Conn.; along with several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
