Salem & Danvers — Mrs. Olga M. (Gilberti) Wanyo, 93, died Thursday evening at Salem Hospital in Salem. She was the beloved wife of the late Michael J. Wanyo, Sr. Born and raised in Chelsea, she was the daughter of the late Louis and Adelaide (Lepore) Gilberti and lived in Revere until 1970 when she moved to Salem. For the past five years she lived at Emeritus at Cherry Hill Assisted Living in Danvers.
Mrs. Wanyo graduated from St. Rose High School in Chelsea and Burdett College in Boston. She was retired from the medical records department at Salem Hospital. Olga's life was involved around her children, grandchildren, great-grandchild and all her family and friends.
She leaves three sons, Michael Wanyo, Jr. and his wife, Anne, of Newburyport, Richard Wanyo and his wife, Roberta, of Lynnfield, Steven Wanyo and his wife, Kelli, of Ipswich; six grandchildren, Christy Wanyo, Amanda Wanyo, Adam Wanyo and his fiancée Jen Duval, Nicole Wanyo Smith and her husband, Michael, Michael Wanyo and his wife, Dana Jessica Wanyo; and four great-grandchildren, Nolan Smith, Amaya Duval, Alexis Duval, and Addison Wanyo. Mrs. Wanyo was predeceased by two brothers and four sisters, Alfred, Dante, Clara, Jenny, Laura Gilberti and Mary Cronin.
ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral from the Bisbee-Porcella Funeral Home, 549 Lincoln Ave., Saugus, Tuesday at 10 a.m., followed by a funeral Mass at St. Anthony’s Church, 250 Revere St., Revere at 11 a.m. Relatives and friends invited. Visiting hours Monday from 4 to 8 p.m. Interment at Puritan Lawn Memorial Park in Peabody.
