Haverhill, MA — Marsha Lee (Hardy) Burke, 66, of Haverhill, Mass., died on Friday at St. Elizabeth Hospital in Boston, following a brief illness.
She was born in Newburyport, Mass., on February 12, 1948, to Beulah M. (Gormley) Hardy and the late Charles L. Hardy.
She is survived by her loving son, Jonathan of Hampton Beach, N.H., who was the center of her life. She worked tirelessly to ensure her son had a college education.
Marsha resided in Rowley before moving to Byfield, where the Hardy family lived for decades. She lived in Amesbury, Mass., and Newton, N.H., for many years, before moving to Haverhill following her retirement.
Known as a dedicated worker, she spent most of her working life in medical services as a home health care aide and worked at the former Amesbury Hospital for almost 20 years.
In addition to her son and mother, Marsha leaves brothers, Brian Hardy of Lunenburg, Vt., Charles D. Hardy, formerly of Newton, N.H., and Kevin Hardy of Manchester, N.H.; and a sister, Diane Green of Newburyport; her close companion, David Bourdelais of Haverhill; and several nieces.
