Haverhill, MA — Janet H. (Biggar) Willette, 77, of Haverhill, died Saturday, May 24, 2014, at Penacook Place in Haverhill.
Born in Concord, N.H., on July 14, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Dickson) Biggar. She graduated from Amesbury High School, and had worked in the shipping department of Coastal Metal in Merrimac.
Janet enjoyed playing cards and Scrabble, as well as traveling to Florida and San Diego. She especially enjoyed time with her family.
She is survived by three sons, James A. Willette and companion, Deborah Wilkinson of Exeter, N.H., David M. Willette and wife, Kimberly, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Gary S. Willette and wife, Pamela, of Kensington, N.H.; her loving companion for over 33 years, Wayne Merritt; five grandchildren, Lauren, Angie, Brandon, Jessica, and Julia; six great-grandchildren, Kelley, Katie, Boston, Nicolai, Bella, and Acadia; along with several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son, Jeffrey P. Willette, who died in 1993; and her brother, Capt. William Biggar.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be Thursday, May 29, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury. A funeral service at the funeral home will be on Friday, at 11 a.m., followed by burial in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amesbury.
