ROWLEY, MA — Frederick A. Skinner, 93, of Rowley, passed away at the Portsmouth Regional Hospital on Wednesday morning, May 21, 2014. He was the widower of Barbara J. (Roache) Skinner, who passed away in 2008.
Fred was born in Boston on July 25, 1920 to his late parents, Melvin and Anna (Kashalena) Skinner.
Fred was a veteran of WWII, having proudly served with the U.S. Marines. During his working career, he was a metallurgical consultant.
He was a member of St. Mary's Parish in Rowley, a member of ASM International and a member of the Rowley V.F.W. Post #5707. Fred enjoyed being with his family and friends at the Rowley V.F.W., and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Corrine Skinner of Rowley; and a son-in-law, Ernie Corbin of Ipswich. He also leaves three grandchildren, Laurie Prescott, Christopher Corbin and Andrew Corbin; and six great-grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Jeanne Corbin.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be offered at St. Mary's Church, Main Street, Rowley, on Friday, May 30, at 10 a.m. Burial will follow in Main Street Cemetery, Rowley.
