Amesbury — Michael Colby Jr., 31, a resident of Amesbury, died June 9, 2014. He was born in Danvers, Mass., on Sept. 14, 1982, son of Gale (Fatello) Brunault and the late Michael Colby Sr. Michael was raised in Newburyport and graduated from Newburyport High School in 2001. Following high school, he attended Full Sail University where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Digital Arts and Design. Michael was valedictorian in the class of 2008.
Michael’s passions were art and music and he always tried to combine those passions in his work. He was an accomplished graphic designer, contributing to a variety of productions for HBO, Discovery Channel and Disney. With his friend, Ben Laing, he co-founded the clothing line "Enthused." As a talented musician and music producer, he was a vocalist, drummer and song writer who recorded, mixed and mastered his band’s music. He created various videos of himself and friends on "The Vine" and has a significant following of faithful viewers. His friends describe him as a kind and funny individual with a heart of gold. He was loved and will be missed by all, especially his adoring mother.
Michael is survived by his mother, Gale Brunault; his stepfather, Brian of West Newbury; and stepsister, Shannon Brunault of Newburyport; as well as a very devoted family that includes many uncles, aunts and cousins from the Fatello and Colby families and Michael’s Godson, Kai Donahue. Family was everything to Michael. He loved and adored his family and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends may call on Friday, June 13, 2014 from 9 a.m. to noon at Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport, followed by a funeral Mass at noon at the same location.
