Raymond L. Kent, 77


ROWLEY — Raymond L. “Razor” Kent, 77, of Rowley, passed away at the Atrium in Danvers on Monday, October 22. He was the husband of the late Louraine “Rayne” (Ladd) Kent, with whom he spent 38 years of marriage.

Ray was born in Ipswich, July 11, 1935, son of the late Reginald Sr. and Edith (Dunn) Kent.

He was formerly employed at the Rowley Ready Mix as a

truck driver. Ray was active in Rowley, having served as a former Cemetery Commissioner for many years, and was a member of both the Rowley Police and Fire Departments.

Ray enjoyed playing cribbage and was a member of the

Cribbage Club at the Rowley V.F.W. He also enjoyed taking long walks through town.

He is survived by his children, sons Raymond Jr. and his wife Suzan Kent of Wells, Maine, and Lawrence K. and his wife Heidi Kent of Rowley; and daughter Donna and her husband Edward Abair of Springfield, N.H.; along with five

grandchildren, Jason, Kaleigh and Nicholas Kent, Raymond Abair, and Courtney Kent. He also leaves his sister-in-law Louellen (Ladd) Scheer and her husband Bill of Mystic, Conn.

ARRANGEMENTS: A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, Oct. 25, 2012 from 5 to 8 p.m at the F.S. Roberts and Son Funeral Home, 14 Independent St., Rowley. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at 11 a.m. in the Main Street Cemetery, Rowley. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Ray’s name to the Rowley Police Association Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 365, Rowley, MA 01969.
