Haverhill — Rosemarie D. “Marie” (Ham) Thompson, 78, of Haverhill, died peacefully Sunday, October 28, 2012 at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House surrounded by her loving family after a brief illness. Born in Haverhill she was the daughter of the late Arthur Ham and Doris (Elie) Blinn and stepdaughter of the late Emil Blinn. She attended St. Joseph Grammar School and was a Graduate of Haverhill High School, Class of 1951.
A homemaker, Mrs. Thompson’s life revolved around her family. She was most comfortable in her own home and welcomed visits from her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. She loved all animals, especially cats. She was known for her quick wit and incredible sense of humor.
She leaves her beloved husband of 61 years, Donald W. Thompson; three sons, Donald E. Thompson and his wife, Patricia, of Bradford, Robert D. Thompson, of Haverhill, John W. Thompson and his wife, Donna, of Newburyport, a daughter, Kathleen J. and Albert H. Duston, of Bradford, grandchildren, Melanie and her husband Michael Fuller, of Hudson, NH, Thomas Duston and his wife Lindsay, of Haverhill, Kimberly Duston, Casey Thompson, and Erin Thompson-Bertrand, and her husband William, all of Bradford, great grandchildren, Melissa, Brianna, Chase, Ashley, and Evan, a brother Richard Blinn and his wife Cynthia as well as several nephews. She was predeceased by her sister, Elaine Beal.
ARRANGEMENTS: Friends and family are respectfully invited to call on Tuesday, from 5 until 7 PM at the Kevin B. Comeau Funeral Home, 486 Main St. (Rte 125) Haverhill. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11:00 AM from the funeral home with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 12:00 Noon in Sacred Hearts Church, South Main St. Bradford. Burial will follow in Elmwood Cemetery, Salem St. Bradford. Memorial donations may be made to the St. Vincent DePaul Society, 48 South Chestnut St., Bradford, MA 01835.
