George Saucier, age 81, longtime Salisbury resident, died Saturday morning, March 17, 2012 in Newburyport, with his loving wife and daughters by his side.
One of fourteen children of the late Onesime and Flora (Malley) Saucier, he was born in Lowell on February 21, 1931 and attended Lowell schools, graduating from Lowell High School.
Having grown up in the carnival business since the age of six, it was a dream come true when he met his wife “Tish.” As the owners of Tish’s Foods in Salisbury, together they traveled all over New England feeding people at fairs and carnivals. He was also a member of the New England Showmen’s Association.
Family was most important to him and he truly enjoyed every minute spent with his wife, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and his brothers and sisters and their families. George was also extremely fond of animals, especially his two cats, Velvet and Zelda and the rest of his “grand-animals.” George’s Fridays always meant family fun time.
He will be dearly missed by his wife, and love of his life, Patricia Ann “Tish” (Bowe) Saucier, daughters, Tricia Saucier and Laurie Frohlich-Hammett and husband Daniel, all of Salisbury; his six wonderful grandchildren Raven, Patricia, Samantha, Jackie, Chelsea and Tina; and his two precious great-grandchildren John and Izabel. He also leaves behind six brothers and three sisters, Roland, Arthur, Raymond, Roger, Henry, Paul, Rita, Loretta and Claire along with several generations of many nieces and nephews and very dear friends. He was predeceased by a son, John D. Frohlich, whose memory they carry in their hearts forever.
