Nicholas A. Argyrople


West Newbury, MA — Nicholas Anthony Argyrople, age 87, of West Newbury, formerly of Milton, Mass., died peacefully on Saturday evening, April 13, 2013, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House in Haverhill, surrounded by his loving family. He was the beloved husband of Anita “Dido” (Daston) Argyrople.

Born in Revere, March 13, 1926, he was one of three children of the late Anthony N. and Anna (Bellas) Argyrople and was a graduate of Northeastern University.

A proud veteran of World War II, he served with the United States Army Air Corps from May 8, 1946, until his honorable discharge on November 6, 1947, with the rank of Sergeant and was a longtime member of the George K. Menichios American Legion Post of Boston.

“Nick” worked many years as the purchasing agent for Builders Iron Works in Somerville. As a master mason he was a member of the former Milton Lodge A.F. & A.M.

He loved traveling, boating, and was known to enjoy a good nap.

In addition to his wife of 65 years, he is survived by his three children, Anthony “Don” Argyrople, of West Newbury; Christopher Argyrople, of Natick, and Stacey (Argyrople) Kevorkian, of Middleton; his four grandchildren, Selam, Victoria, Catherine and Tia, along with many dear relatives and friends. He was predeceased by his brother and sister, Harry and Helen Argyrople.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green St., Newburyport, will be held Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. at the Greek Church of the Annunciation, 7 Harris St., Newburyport, followed by Graveside Services at 12:30 p.m. at the Forest Hills Cemetery, 95 Forest Hills Ave., Boston.
