Salisbury — Mr. John Joseph McCadden, 69, of Salisbury, died peacefully in his home on Sunday, surrounded by his loving family, after a lengthy illness. He was the beloved husband of Florence R. “Bunny” (Chute) McCadden-Fahey.
Born in Lynn, John was the son of the late John and Lila (DeMars) McCadden. He attended Salem High School, and was a resident of Salisbury for the past 22 years, previously residing in Saugus and Salem.
Prior to his retirement, John was the warehouse foreman for the Essex County Co-op. He had previously worked for the Howard Johnson as a cook for over 26 years.
John was an outrider and enjoyed exercising horses. He worked at Linda and Joe Stables at Suffolk Downs and many other horse tracks, including Scarborough Downs. He loved his animals and was a gentleman farmer.
In addition to his wife, he leaves his stepchildren, Jamie Bosnick of Ipswich, Terri Barlow of Plaistow, N.H., and Krista Fahey of Haverhill. He was the brother of Anna Wills of Wakefield, and the late Bernard McCadden and Linda Dane. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews; and his extended family at the Essex County Co-op.
ARRANGEMENTS: A memorial visitation will be held on Wednesday, at 12 to 3 p.m., in Coolidge Hall on the Topsfield Fairgrounds, Topsfield, followed by a memorial service at 3 p.m. Relatives and friends invited.
