Amesbury — Robert E. Linscott Sr., 69, of Amesbury, passed peacefully to be with Christ on April 26, 2014, with his family lovingly by his side.
He was born on October 9, 1944, in Portsmouth, N.H., and was a son of the late Joseph H. and Thelma (Seavey) Linscott.
He graduated from Winnicunnet High School in Hampton, worked for Parsons Electric in New Hampshire, and went on to be employed at Vaughn Corporation in Salisbury, as a foreman in charge of maintenance, retiring with nearly 20 years of service. He was also known as “Mr. Fix It,” or a jack of all trades — having the ability to solve mechanical, plumbing and electrical problems. He could fix anything.
Mr. Linscott was a member of Hope Community Church in Newburyport, and was an avid reader of God’s word. He was known for his great faith and wisdom, always striving to cultivate deeper thought for those who had the privilege of crossing his path. One quote of his that will always be remembered is this, "Our prayers will always be answered, not all of them have manifested themselves yet, but everything comes with time and patience, and not always in the way we would like to think or expect." His intellectual, passionate mind will be sorely missed.
He was also involved in various church life group activities, and could be seen riding his bike everywhere. Stopping in at "The Morning Buzz," and enjoying the friendly atmosphere had also become a favorite pastime for him. He had resided in Amesbury since 2006, coming from Newton, N.H.
He leaves five children, whom he adored, Julie McCann and husband, Kevin, of Portsmouth, N.H., Robert Linscott Jr. and wife, Jennifer, of North Andover, Donald Linscott and fiancée, Sandra, of North Hampton, N.H., Danielle Gallagher-Robinson and husband, Steve, of Seabrook, N.H., and Laura Lee Linscott of Newburyport; 12 grandchildren; his brother, John Linscott of Gardiner, Maine; his sister, Janet Linscott of Webster, N.H., and the mother of four of his children, Jeanne (Murphy) Linscott of Salisbury.
