Kenneth A. Coberly Jr., 36

Seabrook, NH — Kenneth A. Coberly Jr., 36, of Seabrook, died suddenly on Thursday, May 1, 2014, at his home.

He was born in Portsmouth at the former Pease Air Force Base on August 12, 1977. He grew up in Amesbury, Mass.

Kenneth enjoyed fishing, golfing, darts, hunting, and horseshoes. His smile could light up a room. The most important thing in his life was his two daughters. He also enjoyed family gatherings and spending time with his many friends.

Family members include his mother, Tammy L. Greenwood; father, Donald Greenwood; daughters, Victoria Coberly and Alyssa Coberly; brother, Jason Coberly; sister, Crystal Greenwood; two nephews; one niece; and several cousins.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours will be held from 12 to 1 p.m., on Wednesday, May 7, in the Remick & Gendron Funeral Home-Crematory, 811 Lafayette Road, Hampton. Services will immediately follow at 1 p.m., in the funeral home. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited. Burial will be private.   • Albert E. Meehan, 91

    Rowley, MA — Albert E. Meehan, of Rowley, formerly of Melrose, died at the Masconomet Healthcare in Topsfield on July 28, 2014, at the age of 91. Albert was born in Everett, raised in Chelsea and a graduate of Chelsea High School. Albert was a Sea Scout in 1939 for several years before serving his country in the U.S. Navy during WWII on three Aircraft Carriers. Albert flew as a back seat spotter for bombers off the USS Saratoga, also on the USS Hornet at Midway and on the USS Yorktown from 1941-1945. After return for the war, he worked as a Letter Carrier for the Post Office for over 35 years before his retirement in 1984. Albert resided in Melrose for most of his life, several years in Plymouth and the past 15 years in Rowley. He loved spending his time at the ocean at York Beach, Maine, listening to big band music and playing the saxophone. Albert was a dog lover, enjoyed skiing and his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren were the most important part of his life. He was the beloved husband of 62 years to the late Agnes I. (Mahoney) Meehan. Loving father of Thomas K. Meehan and his wife, Lisa of Duxbury, Mary-Lynn Lawless and her fiance, Dave Harrell of Rowley, Robert J. Meehan of Gloucester, Susanne L. Meehan of Virginia and Jennifer A. Will and her husband, Jack of Franklin. Cherished grandfather of Timothy, Meghan, Thomas, Courtney, Amy, Katelyn, Kevin, Sean, Andrew, Connor and Dennis. Caring great-grandfather of Grey, Benjamin, Charlotte, Ryan, Stella Rose, William and Tony “LT” and new arrival and namesake, Albert. Devoted brother of the late Catherine Wolsey, Helen Juliano, Mabel Armstrong and Joseph, Frank and Thomas Meehan. Also survived by many cherished nieces and nephews.

    Morris Plains, NJ — Gaudette, Holly Anne, age 32, of Morris Plains, N.J., died peacefully surrounded by loved ones after fighting a courageous battle with cancer on Sunday, July 27, 2014. Born in Dover, N.H., she graduated with honors from Duke University with a Master's in Divinity. Holly was a Chaplain at New York University Langone Medical Center, New York, N.Y. Surviving is her spouse, Pamela Bell; her mother, Bette Jacques; her father, Patrick Gaudette; her stepmother, Susan Gaudette; her stepfather, Rick Jacques and her stepbrother, Curtis Jacques. Also surviving is her maternal grandmother, Doris Cavannah and her beloved dog, Sirius. Holly was an amazing person who touched the lives of everyone she met.

    Salisbury — Gilbert John Bonk, of Salisbur,y passed away July 22, 2014, in Deltona, Fla. Born Feb. 20, 1943, in Wayne, Mich., he was the son of the late Gilbert Bonk and Ellen Tina Ranta. Gil was a longtime resident of Salisbury, where he was very active in local politics. Gil taught boxing for the Navy for many years and retired from the Portsmouth Shipyard after 33 years of service. Gil was active in local wrestling. He held the position of Commissioner for Wrestling Star Wars for many years. Each year Atlantic Pro Wrestling holds The Gil Bonk Invitational Wrestle Royal, in his honor.

    Amesbury, MA — Dr. Gene C. Haley passed away on July 29, 2014. A genuine “renaissance man,” Dr. Haley was born in Newburyport, on Dec. 3, 1933 to Martin J. and Eleanor (Chouinard) Haley. He attended parochial and public schools in the city, graduating from Newburyport High School in 1951, having earned letters in football and baseball. He was the lead in the Senior Play and in the student-faculty musical comedy. His senior classmates voted him Most Original, Most Talkative, and Class Comedian; awards his mother found distinctly unfunny at the time. (Gene’s father died in 1945, at the age of 38.)

    Peabody MA — Robert W. Cody, 74, of Hampton, N.H., and formerly of Peabody, Mass., died peacefully at his residence on Sunday, July 27, 2014, with his family at his side, after a lengthy illness. He was the husband of Patricia M. (Hayes) Cody and the late Carolyn J. (Newhall) Cody. He was born in East Boston on January 28, 1940, and was the son of the late Walter and Lorraine (Doyle) Cody. He was raised, educated and resided in Peabody. He later moved to Phoenix, Ariz., before moving back to Hampton 15 years ago. Bob had been a manager for Martin Liquor Distributors for many years. Later, he became a salesman for Sears Department Stores in Arizona for eight years prior to his retirement. He enlisted in the U.S. Air Force, where he served in Korea before his discharge in 1964. Bob enjoyed going camping in New Hampshire and at Lake Sebago, Maine. But his favorite time was spent being with his family.

  • Raymond S. Farnell Sr., 89

    Byfield — Raymond S. Farnell Sr. 89, of Byfield, Mass., passed away on July 17, 2014, at Merrimack Valley Hospice House, Haverhill. Ray was born in Georgetown to the late Wallace and Helena (McKay) Farnell. Ray was a heavy equipment operator and a carpenter, and worked for many years for the Town of Georgetown Highway Department, until his retirement. On June 5, 1944, Ray joined the U.S. Army and was a decorated WWII veteran with the rank of Staff Sargent. His Army occupation was as a Communication Specialist in the European African Middle Eastern Campaign. Ray was one of the founders and Past Post Commander of the Georgetown VFW Post 7608, and was a member of the Haverhill Amvets Post. During his spare time, Ray enjoyed spending time with his family, lending a helping hand doing excavating, repairs and additions to his children's and friends' homes, when needed. He loved motorcycling, auto racing, traveling with his motor home, and boating. However, his greatest passion was being in the company of his family.
