Robin Killoran, 72

Melbourne, FL — Robin Peter Killoran passed away after a sudden illness in Melbourne; FL. Born in Lynn, MA, Robin attended St. John’s Prep in Danvers, graduating from Newman Prep in Boston in 1958. For four years he served in the Air Force on a SAC Base in Upper Peninsula, Michigan, and then attended Boston University to study film making.

He started his career as an industrial film maker for Honeywell, moving into teaching at Immaculate Conception in Revere, MA. His naturally jovial personality, propensity for talk, and genuine interest in others led to a very successful career in sales. During the late 1970s through the 1990s, he was one of the top producers in the semiconductor and high-tech industries. In the mid-90s, he began consulting in marketing and sales training, finally joining Electro-Lite Corporation as the Executive Vice President of Marketing and Sales. He had just retired to his dream home on the beach in Florida a week before his death.

A poet at heart, Robin had a nostalgic and trusting nature. These virtues made him a caring person with deep-felt emotions. Having a creative and magical mind, he told wondrous stories to children of all ages, felt life fully, and had recently become an author and blogger, relating personal and eye-opening introspectives about aging and retirement.

Robin’s humor, eye-twinkling mischief, and joie de vivre will be sorely missed. He leaves behind his wife, Catherine M. Killoran of Melbourne, FL, his daughter, Margo Killoran of Hamilton, MA, her husband, David Southwick and their children, Robin, Sophie and Ciara. Others left behind include best friends, Donald Broderick of Topsfield, MA, David Marcus of Amesbury, MA, George Gentuso of Hampton, NH, and Steve Mann of Waverley, NY.

Anyone who knew Robin will know that he had great expectations for his departure festivities. He would welcome anyone whose life he touched, or who touched his. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Landmark School, P.O. Box 227, Prides Crossing, MA 01965, Attn: Lisa Robinson.

ARRANGEMENTS: December 29, 2013, 2 p.m. at the Hamilton Wenham Community House.
