Amesbury, MA — Mary L. (Baldinelli) Burns, 87, lifetime resident of Amesbury, died Sunday, June 9, 2013 at Dover Center for Health & Rehabilitation in Dover, N.H. She was the wife of the late Robert W. Burns, who died in 1999.
Born in Amesbury, May 20, 1926, she was the daughter of the late Arduino and Consiglia (Proetti) Baldinelli. She attended St. Joseph School and graduated from Amesbury High School. Mary had worked in the housekeeping department at the former Amesbury Hospital for many years. She was a longtime volunteer and supporter of Opportunity Works in Newburyport.
Mary was a loving wife and dedicated mother. She spent much of her life caring for Amy and creating special memories with her. They traveled together several times each year, and anyone who spent time with them has shared stories of Corbett’s Pond, The Beacon, and York Beach, Maine.
In addition to her daughter, Amy K. Burns of Amesbury, she is survived by a brother Fernando D. Baldinelli and wife, Bernice, of Amesbury; a sister, Margaret C. Estabrook of South Hampton, N.H.; and several nieces and nephews, all of whom were very dear to her. She was predeceased by a brother, Anthony F. Baldinelli.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers & Sons Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, will be held on Thursday, June 13, from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m., followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Church of the Holy Family Parish, 2 School Street, Amesbury. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery, Amesbury. Donations in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701.
