Henry O. "Brud" Perkins, 80


Newburyport — Henry O. "Brud" Perkins, Jr. a lifelong resident of Newburyport died January 10, 2013 at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. He was born on December 21, 1932 in Newburyport, son of the late Catherine (Herlihy) and Henry O. Perkins Sr. Henry was a graduate of Immaculate Conception High School, and continued his education graduating from Saint Anslems College. He then enlisted in the Navy and served for 4 years before his discharge.

He was employed by Towle Silversmith for years before his employment with the United States Postal Service as a Postal Clerk until his retirement. During his retirement years he was a part time employee at Leary’s Fine Wine and Spirits in Newburyport.

Henry is survived by his wife of 53 years Jean M. (Manthorn) Perkins of Newburyport, children, Stephen Perkins of Newburyport, and Catherine Sloan and her husband Milton of Charlotte, NC, nephews, John, Harold and Larry Boothroyd and niece Kathy Boothroyd. He was predeceased by his 3 sisters, Muriel Zabka, Barbara Perkins and Mary Boothroyd, and 2 nephews Buddy and Doug Boothroyd.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral Services will be private and burial will be at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of the Twomey LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home 193 High St. Newburyport, MA 01950.

In lieu of flowers Henry’s family has asked that memorial contributions be made in his name to Anna Jaques Community Health Foundation, 25 Highland Avenue, Newburyport, MA 01950.
