Exeter, NH — Richard Fredrick Hartford Sr., of Exeter, N.H., lost his battle with cancer on Wednesday, July 31, 2013. He passed peacefully, surrounded by his family and loved ones. Richard married the love of his life, Elizabeth (Burns) Hartford, on August 31, 1978. Bette and Dick would have celebrated their 35th wedding anniversary this year. Richard and Bette spent most of their married lives living in Amesbury, Mass., until they purchased their first home in Exeter, N.H., several years ago. Richard (Dick) worked at the Yankee Greyhound Dog Track in Seabrook for many years until his retirement last year. He enjoyed taking rides on his motorcycle (his mistress as he would call it), going for long rides and getting lost in the car with his wife. He loved spending time with his family and friends who he considered family and going out for ice cream. He loved to laugh and make jokes and to go to yard sales. He had a tremendous love for animals, especially dogs. Richard is survived by his wife, Elizabeth (Burns) Hartford; his mother, Yvonne (Peltier) Brunet; his children, Lyn Camarato of Florida, Richard Jr. of Haverhill, Aaron Hartford of Haverhill, Edward Rossetti of Atkinson, N.H., Lisa Rossetti-Nolan of Vermont, and Sandie Rossetti of Methuen, Mass. Richard was predeceased by his son, Brian Hartford. He is survived by his grandchildren, Jennifer Rossetti-Kleinowskis, Richard Hartford, Holly Hartford and Matthew Rawding; and several great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: A celebration of his life will be planned for the end of August. Donations in his memory can be made to Pet Tails Rescue of NH, 603-942-8905 or www.facebook.com/pettailsrescue.
