Thonmas E. Svirsky

Newburyport, MA — Thomas “Tom” E. Svirsky, a longtime resident of Newburyport, loving husband of 29 years of Maria F. Svirsky, passed away Monday, August 12, 2013, in the Kaplan Family Hospice House in Danvers, following his long term pulmonary fibrosis and recent battle with lung cancer.

Born in Somerville, March 16, 1945, he was the son of the late Vitold E. and Elizabeth C. (Rooney) Svirsky.

Tom’s professional career spanned almost 29 years at Cosentini Associaties in Cambridge. Outside of work, Tom loved catching striped bass while fishing on his beloved “Owe Geezus” Boston Whaler.

In addition to his wife, Maria, he is survived by their two children, Nicole M. Svirsky and Thomas A. Svirsky. He is also survived by his brothers, Richard Svirsky of Massachusetts, Robert Svirsky of Florida and Michael Svirsky of New Hampshire. He was predeceased by his brother, Ronald Duval of Florida.

ARRANGEMENTS: Funeral services and interment will be private for the family, and there will be no visiting hours. Donations in Tom’s memory may be made to Brigham & Women’s Hospital, Development Office, 116 Huntington Ave., 5th floor, Boston, MA 02116, 617-424-4300. Arrangements are by Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green St., Newburyport.
