Seabrook, NH — Benjamin E. Moore, 84, of Seabrook, died Thursday, May 15, 2014 at Rockingham Nursing Home in Brentwood after a lengthy illness.
He was born Oct. 18, 1929 in Salisbury, Mass., a son of the late Fred S. and Maude (Heywood) Moore.
Ben graduated from Newburyport, Mass., High School with the class of 1947, and from the University of New Hampshire in 1951. He was a veteran, serving with the U.S. Army from 1951-1953 and he served as a State Representative to the General Court for 18 years.
He and his late wife, Ellie (Eaton) Moore, who predeceased him in 2010, owned and operated the B&E Variety Store in Seabrook for over 20 years. He was life member of the Seabrook Fireman’s Association and member of American Legion Post 0200 of Concord.
He leaves his favorite niece, Loretta Arthur of Dover; his favorite grandniece, Amy Davis of Seabrook; a brother, Thomas Moore of Lynn, Mass.; three sisters, Pauline Eaton of Seabrook, Helen Langley of Durham, Charlotte Squires of Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
