EXETER, N.H. — Clara (Claire) M. Tower, 89, passed away peacefully November 25th following a period of declining health.
She was born in Amesbury, the daughter of Herbert and Gladys (Heels) Morse. She graduated Amesbury High School. Claire was a well known singer in the area. While still in high school she had her own radio show "The Beautiful Lady in Blue", on WLAW in Lawrence. She appeared in local variety shows.
Claire was the choir director for the Market Street Baptisit Church in Amesbury for many years. She sang for the Eastern Star accompanied by her husband Robert Tower on the organ. When she moved to Florida in 1971, she became the choir director at The Spring Hill Baptist Church.
She was predeceased by her first husband, Kenneth Pushee, an Army Air Force pilot who was killed in a plane crash in 1948, her second husband Dr. Robert Tower, a son David Pushee, a daughter Carolyn Pushee, three brothers and two sisters.
She is survived by her daughter Deborah Pierce, stepdaughter, Janice Valletta, four grandchildren Kenneth, Shawn, David and Sarah; step-grandchildren Emily and Allison, several great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: There will be a memorial service in the Spring, to be announced at a later date.
