Amesbury, MA — Edwin Goodwin, recently of Seabrook, N.H., was born in Detroit, Mich., and was the son of Walter and Eva Goodwin. He was predeceased by his loving wife, Juliette (Despres) Goodwin; his brother, Harry; sisters, Jessie, Florence, Kay and Ruth. Ed was a building contractor for many years, interrupted by service at Boston Naval Shipyard for the duration of WWII. He built projects for M.I.T. and the Federal Government. He later ran a restaurant and motel in Newbury, Mass. Ed and his wife were the former owners of Space Age Cleaners in Amesbury, Mass. He lived in Amesbury for many years having owned several homes in town, the latest he built himself. He and his wife retired to Bayonet Point, Fla., where he continued to buy and renovate homes to resell until he was 90. Ed loved to travel, he and his wife went on several cruises. He also liked to garden. He was a former member of the Amesbury Rotary Club and a Past Master of the Amesbury Grange. Edwin is survived by his son, Edwin, Jr. and wife, Betty, of Flagstaff, Ariz.; daughters, Julie and husband, Pierre Provost, of Amesbury, Mass., Nancy and husband, David Foley, of Newbury, Mass., and Martha Goodwin of Sacramento, Calif.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
ARRANGEMENTS: Services will be held at a later date with interment in St. Joseph's Cemetery, Amesbury, Mass.
