Newburyport, MA — Suzanna M. (Splinter) Vest, 84, of Newburyport, Mass., and Clearwater, Fla., died Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in Newburyport. She was the wife of the late Dale M. Vest.
Suzanna was born Sept. 16, 1928, in Amsterdam, Holland, daughter of the late Jan Splinter and Pieternella (Verbeek) Bloem.
She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star in St. Petersburg, Fla., a member and Past President of the Holland-American Society and retired as a sample lady at Publix in Clearwater Fla.
Suzanna is survived by her daughter, Dorothy and her wife, Frankie Rizzuto, of Newburyport; two sons, Martin H.G. Scheurkogel and his wife, Maria Steenbeek, and JohnRobert Germeraad, all of Holland; a son-in-law, Joel Lutoerkey of Holland; a brother-in-law, Max Harding of California; 7 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 1 niece and 1 nephew. She was predeceased by her daughter, Pieternella M. Lutoerkey and her sister, Cornelia Harding.
