Lucille S. Kitchin, 93


Amesbury, MA — Lucille Kitchin passed away on Tuesday in Sanford, Maine, while vacationing at the family camp in Acton, Maine. She was born in Salmon Falls, N.H., and was the daughter of the late Edmund and Yvonne (Pineault) Belanger. She was the wife of the late Marlon E. Kitchin, who passed away in 1992.

A longtime Amesbury resident, she was a member of the Richard F. O'Brien Post 2016 VFW Ladies Auxiliary, was heavily involved for many years with the Amesbury Independent Jets Football Team, attended Holy Family Parish Church and enjoyed exercise classes at the Amesbury Senior Center. She was an avid Red Sox and Patriots fan and loved playing cribbage and many other card games. She mostly enjoyed spending time with her family at the summer camp in Acton, Maine, tubing behind the boat in her 90's, and more leisurely in her paddle boat. She will be sadly missed by her family.

Lucille leaves behind her 3 sons, Marlon "Pudgy" Kitchin and his wife, Bonnijo, of Amesbury, Gary Kitchin and his wife, Deborah, of Salisbury, and Kevin Kitchin and his partner, Gloria Smith, of Acton, Maine; two brothers, Rene Belanger of Londonderry, N.H., and Edmund Belanger of New York; 3 sisters, Pauline Mushow of Methuen, Mass., Jeannette Nadeau of Amesbury, and Marjorie Reslewic, also of Amesbury; her grandchildren, Jodi Hunt of Haverhill, Kyle Kitchin of Salisbury, Keith Kitchin of S. Portland, Maine, and Kevin Kitchin of Manchester, N.H.; her great-grandchildren, Toby and Tyler Haggett of Amesbury, Emily and Cooper Kitchin of Sebastien, Fla., Griffin Kitchin of Manchester, N.H., Isabel Hunt of Haverhill; many nieces and nephews; and her dog, Peanut. She was the sister of the late Rita Soucy, Lillian Pryor, and Robert and Raymond Belanger.

ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Monday, July 15, at 10:30 a.m. in the Holy Family Parish Church, 2 School St., in Amesbury. Calling hours at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., in Amesbury, will precede the Mass from 8:30 to 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Friends of the Council on Aging, 68 Elm St., Amesbury, MA 01913 or to the Holy Family Parish Renovation Fund, 9 Sparhawk St., also in Amesbury.
