Amesbury, MA — Evelyn V. Eaton, longtime resident of Amesbury, passed away early Friday morning at her home, surrounded by the close family she loved so dearly. Born in Cambridge, she was a first-generation American daughter of the late Avedis and Victoria (Hekimian) Kurkjian. Evelyn spent her childhood in Boston, graduated with the Methuen High School Class of 1953, and was employed by Walgreens Pharmacy for over 20 years. Evelyn was a wonderful woman, devoted to God and her family.
Beloved wife of the late Robert Lowell Eaton, she is survived by her daughter, Valerie (Eaton) Chaput and her husband, Glenn, of Amesbury; her son, David Eaton of Boston; and her daughter, Julie (Eaton) Beane and her husband, Timothy, of Spring, Texas. She was a loving grandmother to Meaghan (Chaput) Ivone and her husband, Benjamin, Emily and Jared Chaput, Alicia, Olivia, Grace, and Timothy Beane II. She was sister to Garnick Kurkjian of Boston, Malcolm Kurkjian of Methuen, Esther Beeman of Henderson, Nev., and the late Robert Kurkjian, who resided in Merrimack, N.H. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: Family and friends are invited to calling hours on Tuesday, July 16, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., in Amesbury. Mrs. Eaton's life will be celebrated during a funeral Mass at Holy Family Parish Church, 2 School St., in Amesbury, where she was a parishioner for 45 years, at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17, followed by interment at St. Joseph's Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to the Holy Family Parish Renovation Fund, 9 Sparhawk St., Amesbury, MA 01913.
