Amesbury, MA — It is with deep sadness that the family and friends of Victor E. "Buck" Bronski announce his passing after losing a long courageous battle with Systemic Scleroderma. His strength and endurance was a testament to how much the human body could withstand. Born and raised in Amesbury, he was the son of the late Victor and Lauretta (Brousseau) Bronski. In 1978, he married Gay Shattler. In 2008, they flew to Vegas and he married her again. In August, they would have celebrated their 35th Wedding Anniversary. Before his illness, he spent much time enjoying the outdoors camping, fishing, and canoeing in the summer months. In the winter months he enjoyed ice fishing and cross country skiing and he always looked forward to a good snowstorm. A great day would be a quiet walk in the woods with his dog. A great night would be a raging campfire in the yard with his wife and closest friends. Together Buck and Gay traveled extensively from the beaches of Maui to the woods of Maine and beyond... and always looked forward to their next vacation.
Besides his loving wife and best friend, Gay, he leaves his sister-in-law, Sally Adams and her husband, Dave; brother-in-law, Les "Skip" Shattler and his wife, Chris; brother-in-law, Glenn Shattler and Michelle; his aunt and godmother, Jeannette Perreault (who he loved very much); Aunt Lillian, Aunt Norma; many nieces and nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins. He also leaves behind his second family, Eric (who was like a son to him), Michelle, Cole, Brody, Jake and Ubee Haggstrom, who meant the world to him and lovingly called him "Uncle Buck." He also leaves behind his close friends, John, Tom, and Butch and his friends who were with him at the very end, Grandpa Dave, Chico, and Ten Bears. He also leaves his beloved dog, Daisy. He has now joined too many friends that have gone before him, especially his good friend, Wig. He will be deeply missed and loved always. All of our hearts are breaking at a loss. We love you Uncle Buck...PCLVMM.
The family would like to thank Dr. William Jackson for his care of Buck over the years and Dr. Harrison "Hap" Farber and the staff of Boston University Medical Center for getting him so close. A special thanks to Bob and Rosie for that last weekend in Maine.
