Novato, CA — Lois Maccannell Sorensen, 87, died Monday, July 1, 2013, at Creekwood Senior Home in Novato, Calif., with her son, Peter, by her side.

She is survived by her son, Peter William Sorensen and his partner, Charles Smith, of San Rafael, Calif.; her brother, Bruce "Mac" Maccannell of Clayton, Del.; her extended family; and countless friends on both coasts.
A graduate of Jeremiah E. Burke High School in Roxbury, Mass., Lois was a consummate humanitarian. She will be fondly remembered for her wry sense of humor and boundless heart.
