Camden, SC — Jane Carpenter Eames, born January 12, 1931, in Princeton, N.J., passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, in Camden, S.C.
Mrs. Eames was a long time resident of Byfield, Mass., and for the past 18 years, resided at her family’s farm in China Village, Maine. She was a graduate and active member of the alumni association of Goucher College, Towson, Md. She was a homemaker and volunteer for many charities and civic organizations. Jane attended The Society of Friends in Vassalboro, Maine.
She loved to travel and made friends all over the US and abroad. She liked to introduce herself as "Jane from Maine." Her positive attitude and kind nature endeared her to all who knew her.
Jane was preceded in death by her husband, Eugene G. Eames, USAF Ret.; and her parents, William S. Carpenter and Myrtle Getchell Carpenter.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Eames McClement and her husband, Arthur, of Camden, S.C., and Stephanie Eames Farrar and her husband, Craig, of McKinney, Texas; and three grandchildren, John McClement, Carey Farrar Bjornnes and Morgan McClement.
ARRANGEMENTS: Graveside memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, August 8, at China Extension Cemetery, China Neck Road, China Village, Maine.
