Teri E. (Jacobson) Vecchione

Newburyport, MA — Teri E. (Jacobson) Vecchione passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Nov 27, 2012 at Tewksbury Hospital.

Teri was born in Long Beach, Calif. She always liked to brag she was a California blonde. Teri was raised and lived most of her life in Newburyport, graduating from Newburyport High School. She studied nursing at the University of Lowell and worked at Anna Jaques Hospital.

Teri was the daughter of the late Penelope Sethares and William Jacobson. Teri leaves behind her husband, Joe Vecchione, and son, Andrew Vecchione, both from Newburyport; her daughter, Leah Vecchione of Somerville; brother, Gregg Jacobson and his wife Jennifer and daughter Valerie of Snowhomish, WA; and two sisters, Patricia Jacobson of Danielson, CT; and Andrea Jacobson and her husband Kevin of Brooklyn, CT.

Teri will be missed by many. A special “Thank You” to the doctors, nurses and staff from the Tewksbury Hospital, D3 ward, for the loving care they gave Teri and us during her long stay fighting Huntington's Disease. We all thank you.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green St., Newburyport, will be Monday, Dec. 3, 2012 from 5 to 9 p.m. Funeral services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 166 High St., Newburyport. Donations in memory of Teri may be made to the Mass General Institute for Neurodegenerative Disease (MIND) http://www.massgeneral.org/mind/.

She graduated from A.H.S. and went to work at CBS Hytron of Newburyport. Together with her husband, they owned and ran A-W Airflo Industries of Newburyport.

Desmond, and the loving mother of Kevin Desmond of Maine, Hilary McCarthy of Reading, Gael Hogan of Salisbury, Patrick and Sean Desmond, both of Hampton, N.H. She was also the dear sister of the late Lois Tilton and is survived by six grandchildren. Doris was a longtime realtor serving Amesbury, Salisbury and Newburyport.
