Haverhill — Virginia (Braley) Casper, 93, passed away Wednesday, May 28, at the Merrimack Valley Hospice House with her loving family by her side.
Born in Haverhill on March 29, 1921, Virginia was the daughter of the late Gaston and Pearl (Chapman) Braley.
She was educated in the Haverhill school system and graduated Haverhill High School with the class of 1939.
Mrs. Casper was employed for many years at General Electric- Lynn and later as a bench worker at Western Electric, from where she retired.
Virginia had a spectacular sense of humor; she was always quick with a sarcastic rebuttal to any serious question and had an affinity to make those around her laugh. She enjoyed camping, bowling, playing 45s, line dancing, bingo, and yard sales. She was also a past member of the Haverhill City Club.
She was predeceased by her husband, Joseph Casper, who passed away in 1988; also her siblings, Gaston Braley Jr., Norman Braley, and Hazel Manemanus.
Ginny was the mother of Dawn McDonald (Robert) of East Kingston, N.H., Tami-Jo Andrews (Jimmy) of Rumford, Maine, and Tami-Jo’s former husband, Joe Stankus of Newton, N.H. She leaves her siblings, Warren Braley of Rancho Cucamonga, Calif., Robert Braley (Ella-Marie) of Yoncalla, Ore., and Alvin Braley (Linda) of Oak Harbor, Wash., grandmother of Kerry Richard (William) of Amesbury, Timothy McDonald of Amesbury and his former wife, Catherine of Wells, Maine, Jill Hooper (Tyler) of Amesbury and Andrew Stankus of Newton, N.H.; great-grandmother of eight, and aunt to many nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: In accordance with Virginia’s wishes, there will be no calling hours. There will be a private graveside service on the 6th of June.
