Rowley — Horace "Bill" Deland Lambert, 94, of Rowley, Mass., and St. Petersburg, Fla., formerly of Atkinson, N.H., passed away Sunday at Anna Jaques Hospital in Newburyport. He was predeceased by his wives, Nancy (Dodge) Lambert and Charlotte (LeBosquet) Lambert.
Bill was born in Beverly on Feb. 14, 1920, to his late parents, Dr. Horace D. and Louise (Selby) Lambert.
He attended Kimball Union Academy in New Hampshire and Bryant Stratton School of Business. Bill was a Veteran of WWII, serving as a Boatswains Mate 2nd Class in the U.S. Navy. During his working years, he was a fuel oil salesman for the Gulf Oil Co.
Bill was a member of the Budleigh Masonic Lodge AF&AM in Beverly and a lifetime member of the Ipswich V.F.W. Post #1093. He was an avid outdoorsman, who enjoyed boating, fishing, and especially, duck hunting.
He is survived by his children, sons, Dale Lambert of Machias, Maine, and Mark F. and his wife, Deborah Lambert of Salisbury, Mass.; and a daughter, Louise and her husband, John M. Kent of Rowley. He also leaves three grandchildren, Sarah L. Lambert, Jennifer L. Lambert and Alyssa L. Kent; and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a daughter, Leila Lambert; and two sisters, Hilda Burkhardt and Phyllis Lambert.
ARRANGEMENTS: A period of visitation will be held Friday, June 6, from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m. at the F.S.
