Newburyport — Phyllis (Woodman) Bourbeau Kelley, 94, of Newburyport, passed away Saturday, June 21, at Port Health Care, surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Newburyport on Feb. 19, 1920, and was the daughter of the late John and Elizabeth (Marcus) Woodman.
Phyllis was a graduate of Newburyport High School, Class of 1937, and also Portia Law School in Boston, Class of 1941.
Phyllis was employed at the former W.T. Grants in Newburyport for 20 years, until her retirement in 1976. She was a volunteer at the Anna Jaques Hospital gift shop for over 15 years. She developed Bourbeau Estates on Turkey Hill Road from 1985 to 1990.
She was a 25-year, winter resident of Punta Gorda, Fla., and enjoyed traveling all over the world.
She was the wife of the late Massachusetts State Police Capt. Robert F. Bourbeau, and is survived by her daughter, Rhonda S. and her husband, Yiannis Tsiplakis of Newburyport; son, Wayne F. Bourbeau and his wife, Mary Beth, of Salisbury; sister, Eleanor Woodman of Georgetown; brothers, Irving Woodman and his wife, Georgia, of Brentwood, N.H., and Melvin Woodman of Lawrence; grandchildren, Ashley, Bobby, Wayne Bourbeau, and Romain, Dorian and Stefan Tsiplaki; as well as several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend her calling hours on Wednesday, June 25, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the H.L. Farmer & Sons Funeral Home, 106 Summer St., Haverhill. Funeral services and interment in St. Mary’s Cemetery, Franklin, Mass., will be private on Thursday.
