Amesbury, MA — Robert "Bob" Allsopp, longtime resident of Amesbury, died suddenly on December 19, 2013, at his home in Manchester, NH.
Born and raised in Amesbury, he was the son of the late Robert Allsopp Sr. and Florence (Herlihy) Allsopp. He served as an altar boy at St. Joseph's Church and was a member of Boy Scout Troop 7, where he received his Eagle Scout Award.
Robert was a graduate of Amesbury High School and Lowell University with a degree in Business Administration. He was the Sales Manager for New England Precast and Shea Concrete. A proud Veteran of the Vietnam War, Robert served in the U.S. Army and was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery in the line of duty. He served as Treasurer for many years of the Polish National Alliance in Amesbury.
Robert is survived by two sons, Andrew Allsopp and wife, Patricia, of Pompano Beach, FL, Aaron Allsopp of Jamaica Plain, MA, and daughter, Abby Allsopp of Amesbury. He is also survived by his former wife, Elizabeth Allsopp of Amesbury; his brother, Cornelius Allsopp and wife, Leola, of Brays Island, S.C., and half sister, Pat Richard of Waterboro, ME. He was predeceased by his other half sister, Beryl McCoubrey of Exeter, NH.
ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 25, at 11 a.m. at Holy Family Parish, 9 Sparhawk St. in Amesbury. Immediately following will be a Military Honors ceremony at St. Joseph's Cemetery off of Route 110 in Amesbury.
