Amesbury, MA — Dennis “Dewayne” Jones, age 43, of Amesbury, passed away at his home Tuesday morning, January 21, 2014, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Borger, Texas, October 3, 1970, he was one of four children of Barbara Glosson and the late Dennis Jones. After graduating from college, Mr. Jones joined the military and pursued a twenty-year career, proudly serving with the United States Air Force until his honorable discharge on February 3, 2013, with the rank of Major. During those years he served in both the Persian Gulf War and Operation Iraqi Freedom.
Although his life was cut short by ALS (Lou Gehrig’s disease), his life was filled with many accomplishments, much joy, and great love. His devotion to family was unquestionable and his friendships were everlasting.
Those left behind to keep his memory alive and vivid are his loving wife and best friend, Patricia Jones; his mother, Barbara; his children, Danni, Jonathan, Kirsten, Jacob and Aiden; and his siblings, Tammy, Stacy, and Jason; his loving family through marriage, Al and Patricia DiJanni, Steve and Cheri Chaisson, and Jared and Stephanie Ewell; and many nieces and nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, dear friends, and grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: A period of visitation will be held Tuesday, January 28, 2014, from 9 to 10:15 a.m. at the Highland Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, followed by a funeral Mass at 10:30 a.m. at St. Joseph Church of the Holy Family Parish, 2 School Street, Amesbury. Interment will be private for the family. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the March of Dimes, 112 Turnpike Road, Suite 102, Westborough, MA 01581.
