Hampton, NH — John Ludwick of Hampton, N.H., formerly of Amesbury, Mass., passed away peacefully at Exeter Hospital on February 9, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He was predeceased by his loving wife of 59 years of marriage, Betty Ludwick.
Born on March 6, 1934, in New York City, son of John and Eleanor Ludwick, he was raised in Portsmouth, N.H., and graduated from Portsmouth High School in 1952. He joined the U.S. Air Force in 1954 until his honorable discharge in 1958. He was employed by Bell Labs in North Andover where he worked for 30 years as an engineer until his retirement in 1989. John and his wife, Betty, spent retirement touring the country and enjoyed a winter home in Lakeland, Fla. They most enjoyed playing the roles of "Nana and Pa" to their three grandchildren who they loved very much and spoiled them often.
John was a friend of Bill W., sponsoring many people in the seacost area over the years and recently received his 25th anniversary medallion.
He is survived by sisters, Peggy Martinez of North Hampton, N.H., and Betty Mullins Ludwick of Sun Valley, Nev.; a son, Rick Ludwick and his wife, Eileen, of Newburyport, Mass.; a daughter, Laura Wilsey of Redding, Calif.; grandchildren, Kimberly Ludwick of Billerica, Mass.; Kathleen Ludwick of Dover, N.H.; and Andrew Ludwick of Los Angeles, Calif. He was predeceased by his brother, Joseph Ludwick of Portsouth, N.H.
