Amesbury, MA — Scott D. Downey, age 47, of Amesbury, and formerly of Wakefield, passed away peacefully on April 4, 2013, at his residence after illness following a serious car accident. Born November 23, 1965, he was the son of Patricia (Griecci) Downey, of E. Kingston, N.H., and formerly of Wakefield, and the late Daniel P. Downey, of Woburn, Mass. Scott attended schools in Wakefield, North Reading and Dublin Christian Academy in Dublin, N.H. Scott was known as being extremely outgoing and friendly to everyone. He was a carpenter by trade, enjoyed watching the Patriots, Red Sox and Celtics and was a voracious reader. Scott also leaves his wife, Cheryl-Ann Downey, of Andover, Mass, and a brother, Brian P. Downey, of Rowley, Mass. Scott will be missed very much by his son, Matthew, and his two daughters, Nichole Lee and Casey Ann.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to visitation on Saturday, April 20, 2013, at the Mackey Funeral Home in Danvers, Mass., from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. A service will be held following visitation at 1 p.m. in the funeral home. In Lieu of flowers, the family has asked that memorial donations be made to The Brain Injury Association of Massachusetts in memory of Scott D. Downey.
