Lorraine Julia Nadeau, 78

Amesbury — Lorraine Julia Nadeau, 78, of Amesbury, died July 24, 2013, at her home.

Born in Newburyport, Mass., on Nov. 11, 1934, she was the daughter of the late John McHugh and the late Mary (Tracz) McHugh.

She attended parochial school at the Immaculate Conception and in 1952, she graduated from Newburyport High School.

Lorraine was the wife of the late John Nadeau, an Airforce career man, and together they loved to travel.

She worked for many years in Newburyport at Gould Factory, was devoted to cats, and enjoyed bingo and knitting.

She leaves behind her Aunt Olga Hills of Byfield, Mass., many cousins, as well as close family friends, Joann Cordon, Lyn Sullivan, Terry LaPierre and Amy Anwyl. She was predeceased by her late longtime companion, Ronald Champagne and late brother, John McHugh Jr.

ARRANGEMENTS: A funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, 10:30 a.m. at the Church of the Immaculate Conception. Burial of ashes will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Newburyport. To leave online condolences, please visit
