Amesbury, MA — Linda Ann (Bergeron) Skovron, 66, passed away peacefully on July 5, surrounded by her loving family. Linda was the wife of the late Peter T. Skovron, who she referred to as her best friend and love of her life. She was born and raised in Amesbury, and was the daughter of Alfred and Gertrude (Osgood) Bergeron.
Linda loved trips to Maine (where she and Pete often fared well in family fishing tournaments), gardening, cooking, bird watching, listening to Elvis, family get-togethers, and “craft fairing” with her sister.
Linda loved her home town of Amesbury. She enjoyed walking in the town parades and giving time to local charities. She worked at the Newburyport Bank in downtown Amesbury. She represented her high school junior class in 1964 as their Prom Queen. She fell in love with her high school sweetheart, Peter, on a class trip to Bar Harbor, Maine.
Linda is survived by her son, Derek Skovron; her sister, Nadine Hartwell; brother, Albert Bergeron; sister-in-laws, Sandra Ray, Patricia Bergeron and Theresa Skovron; brother-in-laws, David Hartwell and Ron Skovron; lifelong friends Ray and Paula Piper; granddaughters, Nicole Skovron–Filostin and Natasha Skovron of Littleton, Colo.; and great-grandchildren, Grasile, Gabriel, Delany, and another on the way. Linda was predeceased by her brothers, Alfred and Richard Bergeron, and her son, Timothy.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made In Memory of Linda Skovron, c/o The Newburyport Bank, 40 Friend St., Amesbury, MA 01913. The funds will be used for the education of Linda’s great-grandchildren.
ARRANGEMENTS: Calling hours will be held at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home, 118 Friend St., in Amesbury, on Thursday, July 11, from 11 a.m. to noon. A service will follow, and burial will take place in Union Cemetery.
