AMESBURY — Isabelle F. (Clark) Currier, 94, longtime Amesbury resident, died peacefully on Monday afternoon, August 5, 2013, at Wingate at Haverhill, surrounded by her loving family.
Born in Salisbury on November 14, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Thatcher R. and Ada B. (Pinkham) Clark. She was a graduate of Amesbury High School, Class of 1936.
A devoted wife, Isabelle took great pride in keeping a beautiful home, always ready to welcome family and friends and being a most gracious hostess. She loved helping others, especially volunteering her time in service to the elderly with meals and transportation to appointments. A kind, loving individual, she enjoyed making people feel special.
She had been a member of the Elizabeth H. Whittier Club in Amesbury for many years.
Predeceased by her beloved husband, Herbert F. Currier, her daughter, Isabelle Colby, her sisters, Edna Stimpson and Blanche E. Adkins, and brother-in-law, H. Delbert Adkins, she is survived by her son-in-law, Luther Colby, Jr. and wife, Kathleen, of Amesbury; her grandson, Norman L. Colby and wife, Nancy, of Michigan; and her great-grandchildren, Joshua Colby of Nashville, Tenn., and Melissa and Ashley Colby of Michigan.
ARRANGEMENTS: A period of visitation will be held on Thursday, from 10 to 11 a.m., at the Highland Street Chapel of Paul C. Rogers Family Funeral Home, 2 Hillside Avenue, Amesbury, immediately followed by services at the funeral home at 11 a.m. Interment will be in Belleville Cemetery, Newburyport.
