Everett, MA — Kenneth Dennison Hussey, 60, of Everett, formerly of Newburyport, died unexpectedly at his home in Everett on August 3, 2013.
He was born in Kittery, Maine, September 2, 1952, and was the son of the late William D. and Lois J. (Kernahan) Hussey.
He was educated in the Newburyport School System, and graduated from Biddeford High School in Maine in 1971.
Ken entered into military service in the U.S. Air Force on May 28, 1971, and was honorably discharged on May 22, 1973, with the rank of Airman First Class.
In recent years, Kenneth had worked for the Boston Parks and Recreation Department
Ken was an avid sports fan and enjoyed following all of the Boston sports teams, especially the Patriots and Red Sox. He enjoyed outdoor activities and listening to music.
But most important to him was his family and friends. Everyone who met Ken knew immediately how compassionate and kind he was.
His survivors include two daughters, Jessica Fogg of Concord, N.H., and Amanda Hussey of Exeter, N.H.; three sisters, Kathleen Goldsmith of Clinton, Jean Hussey of Haverhill and Patricia Hawkins of Methuen; four grandchildren, Alden, Grace, Ava, and Zoe; and several nieces, nephews and dear friends.
ARRANGEMENTS: A graveside service for relatives and friends will be held on Friday, August 16, at 11 a.m., at Oak Hill Cemetery, Newburyport. There will be no visiting hours. By request of the family, kindly omit flowers, and donations in his memory may be made to the New England Center for Homeless Veterans, 17 Court Street, 9th Floor, Boston, MA 02108. Arrangements are by Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Funeral Home, Green St., Newburyport.
