Virginia — Albina Firliet Kelleher, 88, of Oak Hill, Virginia (formerly of Newburyport), passed peacefully into eternal life Sunday, March 16, 2014, surrounded by her loving family and friends. She was born in West Rutland, Vermont on February 7, 1926, the youngest of John P. Firliet and Mary (Kowalska) Firliet. In 1955, she married Francis Daniel Kelleher of Newburyport, where they made their family home. In recent years, she lived with her daughter and family in Virginia. For over 40 years, she worked in management for The New England Telephone Company, AT&T and Verizon, and immensely enjoyed her retirement years. Throughout her life, she put her family and her Catholic faith first and was a dedicated parishioner of the Immaculate Conception Church in Newburyport. Her passion for life and her good sense of humor will be sorely missed.
She is survived by three children, Diana H. O’Brien and her husband, Patrick D. O’Brien and grandchildren, Matthew and Stephanie, of Vienna, VA, Andrea K. Ward and her husband, Dale A. Ward and grandson, Christian of Oak, Hill, VA, Christopher Kelleher of Newburyport and her grandson, Daniel Patrick. Albina was predeceased by her husband in 1993; her son, Daniel Francis; her four brothers, Lucien, Rudolph, Stephen and Alex; and three sisters, Josephine McCormack, Sophie Seymour and Hedwidge Mullaney of Vermont.
ARRANGEMENTS: Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend her Funeral Mass on Saturday, March 22, at 10:30 a.m. in The Church of the Immaculate Conception, 42 Green St., Newburyport. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Newburyport. Visitation will be held prior to her funeral Mass on Saturday from 9 to 10 a.m. in the Twomey-LeBlanc and Conte Funeral Home, 193 High St., Newburyport.
