Newbury, and formerly Hudson, MA — Russell C. Pugh, 79, of Newbury, Mass., formerly of Hudson, Mass., passed away peacefully on May 7, 2013, at Maplewood Center in Amesbury, Mass.
Born in Buffalo, N.Y., Russell was the son of the late Paul and Grace M. (Drago) Pugh. He served proudly in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Isherwood during the Korean War, worked for many years as a printer at W.E. Andrews in Bedford, Mass., and retired from RR Donnelly in Hudson, Mass. He was an avid fisherman and gardener.
Russell is survived by three sons, Russell M. Pugh and wife, Diane of Medford, Mass., Gary Pugh and wife, Kim of Newbury, Mass., and Gregg Pugh and wife, Cathy of Newbury, Mass.; two daughters, Joyce Hartigan and husband, Bob of Newburyport, Mass., and Nancy Pugh and husband, Rob of Portland, Maine; their mother, Nancy C. Pugh of Hudson, Mass.; his sister, Barbara Horst of Palo Alto, Calif.; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Russell was predeceased by his sister, Joyce Miller of Angola, N.Y.
ARRANGEMENTS: A period of visitation for family and friends will be held at Twomey, LeBlanc & Conte Funeral Home, 193 High Street, Newburyport, MA, on Saturday, May 11, 2013, from 1 to 4 p.m. Burial will be private.
