Helen L. Drouin, of Amidon Ave., formerly of Sanford, Me. passed away on Monday Feb. 6 at her home with family at her side. She was born in Sanford, Me. on April 28, 1922, daughter of the late William and Emma (Ricker) Dawson. She was the wife of the late Adrien Drouin who passed away in 1966.
She grew up and attended schools in Sanford and was a graduate from Sanford High. She was a longtime Amesbury resident and had worked many years at Western Electric-AT&T in N. Andover, Ma. Active in her church, she was a member of St.. Joseph's Holy Family Parish of Amesbury and the Daughters of Isabella for many years. She also volunteered much of her time at the former Amesbury Hospital. She enjoyed traveling, the ocean, and animals, and loved cooking and arts and crafts.
She is survived by one son, Raymond Drouin and his fiance Sandra Crabtree of Amesbury, two daughters, Theresa Drouin of Methuen, Ma, and Sandra Drouin of Amesbury, her brother in law Chester Drouin of Calabash, NC., her godchild Patricia Helen Drouin of Gorham, Me., and several nieces and nephews.
ARRANGEMENTS: Her funeral mass will be celebrated on Thursday Feb. 9 at 10:00 am in the Holy Family Parish Church 2 School St. in Amesbury. Burial in St. Ignacious Cemetery in Sanford will be held in the spring. Calling hours at the E.V. Jutras & Sons Funeral Home 118 Friend St. in Amesbury will be Wednesday Feb 8 from 4-7 pm.
