Jeffrey Scott Noonan


Amesbury, MA — Jeffrey Scott Noonan, age 38, of Amesbury, formerly of Newbury and Salem, died suddenly at his home in Amesbury on Tuesday, March 26, 2013 of a pulmonary embolism.

Beloved son of Robert and Diane (Somers) Noonan of Newbury, he was born in Newburyport on April 27, 1974 and was a graduate of Salem State College. He worked as a CNA at Seaview Retreat in Rowley and managed several retail stores in the area.

As a prolific writer, Jeff was working on his first book to be published, having already received a national award for his published poetry. He was an avid historian, was very well read and articulate, and had a passion for architecture, old buildings and antiques. When he was 11 years old, he fought to save the John P. Marquand Estate in Newbury.

Jeff was a very spiritual person, having a deep interest in the many religions of the world. His great sense of humor, big smile and loving, caring ways, endeared him to everyone. He will be truly missed by the many people whose lives he touched so profoundly.

In addition to his parents, Jeffrey is survived by his brother, Timothy Noonan and wife Meaghan of Newbury; two nieces, Ryleigh and Michaela; three uncles, Ted Noonan and wife Julie of Northfield, Minnesota; Matthew Noonan of Dracut and Michael Somers and wife Linda of Amesbury; as well as several cousins, his godmother, Sherrill Ayles of Hampton, NH and many friends.

ARRANGEMENTS: Visiting hours at the Elliott, Woodworth & Rogers Family Funeral Home, 35 Green Street, Newburyport, will be Tuesday, April 2, 2013 from 2 to 4 p.m. immediately followed by the services at 4 P.M.
